Project for Public Spaces’ Placemaking training seminars introduce new ways of thinking about the public spaces in your community. The training provides practical tools and techniques, as well as inspiration to those who want to improve the public environment in their neighborhood, town, or city. The following courses are currently being offered (click on links for additional info):
- Streets as Places will be held in New York, New York on September 15-16, 2008.
- How to Turn a Place Around will be held in Greenwich Village, New York on September 25-26, 2008.
- How to Create Successful Markets will be held in New York, New York on October 17-18, 2008.
- National Transit Institute offers a variety of training courses including the two courses below so check out their Web site on a regular basis.
- NCI Certification Program:
National Charrette Institute offers NCI Certification Programs that include the necessary tools and techniques to prepare you for planning, managing and facilitating a Charrette. Charrettes capable of transformative community change require careful planning and execution. The NCI Charrette Planner and Public Meeting Facilitator courses give you the framework and the hands-on skills to successfully utilize the powerful Dynamic Planning process.
